When new customers walk in and are slightly perplexed by the menu options, they always ask what we recommned. And our answer is to go with #1 from the menu – the asian slow roast pork burrito (properly named “Sweeeeet”). This lean and tender cut of pork is carefully marinated overnight and slow roasted for 3hours to give it that delicious texture and flavourful aroma. And how to eat it? Get it with a medium-spice, fully-loaded with Chow Mein noodles for only $6.99 + taxes. You’ll be glad you ordered it by name – Sweeeeeet.

What is an Asian burrito? Well, we take the best of popular Asian cuisine such as variety in texture, ingredient mix, freshness, cooking technique and flavour and modernize the experience with an easy-to-eat, grab n go burrito while staying true to Tex Mex as well. Sounds strange, but the two mix really well.

The Tex Mex flavours and philosophy is represented with a delicious homemade chipotle sauce, fresh guacamole, shredded cheese, dollops of sour cream, freshly squeezed lime, and cilantro. And of course, a delicously toasted tortilla shell – now available in your choice of classic white tortilla OR whole-wheat tortilla. (I personally prefer the classic white tortilla for texture and toast-ability) The two food cultures marry well as familiar flavours from both cuisines hit your palatte in an old skool, modern twist. You know you’re eating something very familiar but at the same time very new. Either way, it tastes damn tasty good.

Some would argue that a burrito just isn’t a burrito without rice. But if you had a choice between rice and noodles in your burrito – what would you say then? We call our rice, Rustic Rice, because it’s healthy alternative to your everyday burrito rice offering. Our rice is a triple-medley of rice grains cooked together to create a purplish-red foundation of nutrition and flavour. You may even find this rice at some fine dining establishments, but try to get them to stuff it in a burrito for you (Note: if you try this, let us know what happened!). And part of what makes us “new” Mexican burritos is that we offer the people something “new” like stir-fried noodles with sprouts and scallions in your burrito. Some die-hard burrito eaters say they taste better than rice, and are less messy to eat. While others are tried and true rice fanatics. Whatever you decide, you’ll always get a choice of rice or noodles in your burrito at Chino Locos.
